Coincidences

#11 11-29-06 11:50PM. I am planning to see my friend Kat, when I go to India next month. When I called the ashram she is staying at last week, they said to call back today to make the plans to come and visit. Kat had no idea about this. Randomly, she ended up calling today just as I was thiking that I needed to call the ashram!

#10 11-28-06 6:30PM. I saw a news clip on TV about a deer busting into a warehouse somewhere and destroying it. I also had some other incident during the day where someone was talking about a deer. I then go out at night Melanie and Adrian to a bar in Ballard and they happen to have all these stuffed animals and deer mounted on the walls! (don’t ask why we ended up in this place).

#9 11-27-06 7:45pm. Read a blog that I normally check out. Noticed a post about the author’s friend passing away two years ago. Today was the anniversery of the passing. He was Indian. I started to think about what a tragedy it must have been, and what things would be like if I had passed away like that. What would people think or do? I clicked a link to learn more, and discovered that the person had graduated from College the same year as me, and actually worked at Microsoft (where I am now) for several years.

#8 11-27-06 7pm. My fried Todd called on his way home. It was snowing (which is very rare for Seattle) we enjoyed a few remarks about how west-coasters don’t know how to drive in bad weather (this is a fact!). I walked to my window and talked about how two cars were actually off the rode on my sidewalk! They were not damaged, but skidded out. Within a few seconds, Todd skidded out! He was OK, as was his 4×4.

#7 11-27-06 9am. Jason posts a comment after reading my post about coincidences. He mentions a Deepak Chopra audio series he is going through that talks about “synchrodestiny,” or the coincidences and their importance in our lives. He mentioned it would be interesting for me to check it out. Turns out, I just picked up the book-version of the exact same program two days ago!

#6 11-26-06 4:20pm. While I was in the gym I thought about all the rain pouring down in Seattle, and how that must make for great snow in the mountains! I then remembered that I had talked to a friend about going to Whistler, Canada sometime in February to snowboard. I realized I should get moving on making the reservation. I handn’t talked to this friend in over a month. I go down to my car, and there is a text message from the same friend asking if I want to go snowboarding sometime this week!

#5 11-26-06 4pm. Was working out in the gym and saw a tall red-headed girl far away that looked like a friend. As she got closer, I realized it wasn’t her. I wondered for a second what her and her (new) husband are up to. I hadn’t seen them in a while. Getting ready to leave the gym, and who do I run into? Her husband! Ironic.

#4 11-25-06 8:05pm. This is REALLY WEIRD. A different officer just called me back to ask me a couple more questions about the case. The first thing he asked me was “Where did you go to high school.” To which I replied “New York.” He then said that he knew someone in High School named Ravi Raman! Of course, it wasn’t me, but just the chances of him knowing someone else with my same name was coincidence enough to qualify it for this list :).

#3 11-25-06 8pm. I just hit the “publish” button on this post (about coincidences)….when the phone rang with yet another! This morning I was at the coffee shop down the street, and saw a bunch of Seattle’s finest police officers enjoying a much needed and well-deserved break. I reconized one of the officers as the guy who responded to a call back in May when someone broke into my car (and several others) in my building’s parking garage. I hadn’t seen him since the incident. The thieves ended up stealing a few old department stole credit cards, and went on a shopping spree! I cleared up the mess months ago and moved on. However, tonight, my phone just rang and it was the Seattle Police Department, they caught someone, and found my credit cards in their possesion! Months after they were stolen and cancelled, the bozo still carried it around! How ironic that I run into the officer in the AM, and get this call in the PM….on a Saturday of all days!

#2 11-25-06 6pm. I was thinking about two dear friends I hadn’t heard from in a long time. I checked my e-mail to see e-mails from both friends within an hour of each other!

#1 11-25-06 4pm. I was planning to call my friend Robert at point during the day to make dinner plans. Around 4pm, as I was wrapping up some errands, I decided to give him a call. It turns out that I called his phone at the exact same time he press the “call” button on his phone!
