I really despise them. Treadmills. Ellipticals. Stairmasters. Bikes. I can run for hours or ride my bike outside all day, but throw me indoors and I get totally fedup. Unfortunately we are now in the bad time of year when it starts to get dark before I leave work. Today, the sun set at 6:45pm. Tomorrow, our day will be three and a half minutes shorter than today! There is no avoiding it….indoor trainers here I come!
Yesterday I spent one hour on the stairmaster after my weight workout. It was pure death. The middle aged ladies around me were going twice as fast and hardly breaking a sweat. They seemed to enjoy every minute of it. I was dying, if not physically….definitely mentally. I need my stairmaster in an IMAX, then maybe I’d be entertained enough. Either that or just give me some sunshine!
6:30am yoga tomorrow…yippee!

I agree that exercise machines are just awful, especially tread mills. Those things ruins knees. I put on one of those cheesy reflector vests before running outside in the dark. I lose my pride but the soccer mom’s driving through the neighborhood usually see me.

Video IPOD on the stair master! Although why are you climbing a stair master?
Hop on the indoor cycling trainer and get tour de france dvds!! You can ride your bike all day. I think the dvd set for 2006 just came out.
Another great indoor exercise . . . indoor rock climbing. It is alot like yoga with the added challenge of gravitiy.
1. I just rented Jay Culter’s DVD…he just won Mr. Olympia after coming in 2nd the past 5 years….they went through his training program and he had me inspired to get back into some of the boring stuff….I also want to watch out for my ankles and not just ride and run all the time…so I am doing more elliptical and stairmaster stuff. Jay would do cardio like 3 times a day to get cut…while lifting hard. He’d do 1 hour in the AM at home. 30min after his weight workout. He’d then set his alarm and hit the gym at 2am for another 1 hour of cardio! all this and the dude was 280lbs and ripped….yeah, the roids helped!
2. why are you training to pick up soccer moms? didnt know you were into older women.
3. yeah…I do music on the ipod…I just have trouble reading or watching stuff while doin cardio…will have to get used to it.
The last date I got was after I was run over by a soccer mom running. She felt so bad she took me to dinner that night!!! ( just kidding)
