World trade center site. They are getting ready to start construction on the new Port Authority building and the Freedom Tower…a new skyscraper. Visited the World Trade Center site. Just standing there was pretty emotional…more than I thought it would be. They are starting to build the foundatin for the new Port Authority center and the new Freedom Tower skyscraper.

It’s kind of weird having all of that just a 20 min ride on the E away and this is the first glance I see of the area since almost 3 years ago when I had a meeting at an office that overlooked the WTC a few months after the events. There are always stories in the papers, but I just do my best to skip over them.
Last month I went to see two films and before both, the preview for the WTC movie was shown and I started balling both times. The sniffling that went on long after the preview was over clued me into knowing I wasn’t the only one either.
I agree that the stories have to be told, but as a NYC native, as someone who had to live through 9/11 firsthand, it is waaaaaaay too soon for all of that.
